The Ruger GP100 3 Inch Barrel is a short-barrel, double action revolver which is quite well constructed, with a intended design. It was designed with a well balanced features that makes this revolver very reliable. The Ruger GP-100 3 Inch revolver is equipped with a Hogue textured rubber monogrip with rosewood inserts.

The GP100® Match Champion® features a custom Hogue® hardwood grip with stippled sides, Both are available in a 7 round cylinder I think, which is nice.

Mar 14,  · Yes, I agree with the previous responses, it is normal to varying degree on GP 100 revolvers. My 5 in bbl GP100 that is about 4 years old is almost as smooth as glass whether pointed up or down with cylinder swung open, while my 1 year old 3 in bbl model has significant roughness while the barrel is pointed upward.

In the end, it really didn't seem worth the effort to find a 9mm bullet/load that would work when almost anything in .358" would load and shoot just fine as .38 special or .357 mag. I suspect you would have the same problems with the GP100 and change-over would be more difficult than the Blackhawk.
